How we work

Assess, test, clean, verify

Laser cleaning is a precision process, and the right settings depend on the substrate, the coating, the contamination and the finish you need. That is why every job runs the same four steps, whether it is one gate or a factory floor of components.

  1. 01

    Assess

We look at the surface, the contamination, the material and the result you need. Every substrate behaves differently, so this comes before anything else.

  2. 02

    Test

Where it makes sense we clean a small test area first, to confirm the approach works on your material before we commit to the whole job.

  3. 03

    Clean

The laser is set up for that specific application and the work is done on your site. No dismantling, no transporting the part somewhere else.

  4. 04

    Verify

We inspect the finished surface against what we agreed at the start, and hand it back to you.

Before we switch anything on

Five things we look at

The substrate
What are we cleaning?
The contamination
What needs to come off?
The desired finish
What result do you need?
The working environment
Can the work be done safely on site?
The laser parameters
What settings suit this application?

Where it is practical we clean a small test area first. On anything sensitive, polished, coated or unidentified, that test is not optional. It is how we find out what the surface does before we do it to the whole piece.

What we need from you

Access and site safety

We need safe working access to the surface, and we need to know about the site before we arrive. That means hazardous materials, electrical hazards, confined spaces and anything else specific to your site. Laser safety controls stay in place for the whole job, and the worksite requirements have to hold while we are working.

Production line work, night shifts, weekends, public holidays and urgent breakdown response are all possible. They are quoted separately rather than at the standard rate.

Where we travel

Gauteng is our core service area, and we are based in Randpark Ridge, Johannesburg. Call outs inside the standard service area are covered by the minimum charge. National work by arrangement, with travel quoted at R7.50 per kilometre return.

Start with a photo

Send a photo or a short video of the surface and roughly how big it is. That is usually enough for us to tell you whether it is worth doing and what it would cost.
